Missing file "scannow"

OS is Windows XP SP2
I am trying to repair some missing files in my computer. I tried using
sfc/scannow but I get an error message "windows cannot find 'sfc/scannow'.
How can I replace the file "scannow".

Try putting a space between sfc and /scannow.

Start -> Run -> sfc /scannow
