hiya many thanks in anticipation for your help.
When attempting to access win xp help from start/help and support it puts up
a message saying cannot find helpctr.exe file.I cannot locate this file on my
pc but am able to access help and support by going to windows binaries and
then putting help and support shortcut on my desktop .Anyone got any ideas or
had the same problem and sorted it ,all help gladly recieved as I dont wanna
reload all my stuff yet again.

I ran into that problem because I uninstalled an entry called "PCHEALTH."

My solution: I got a problem called XPlite from www.litepc.com. That
program allows you to remove/add Windows components at will- and that
means removing way more than what Add/Remove Programs can do. There's an
entry for Help and Support. I first removed it, and then reinstalled it.
Problem fixed. Note that if your OEM customized your Help and Support with
a different interface, it will be lost and it will default to the original
interface (which I like better anyway)

Note that the trial version cannot remove the Help and Support; you need
the registered version. (And to obtain it is something for you to figure
out.)

How did you navigate tp Windows binaries? I'd settle for that until I can
fix the problem.
Thanks for any help.
