I purchased a sound card, sb live 24 bit. When I install the dirvers for the
sound card I received a error message, file missing.... Installwdm.dll. Is
this a windows installation driver and can I download the missing driver? I
wasn't able to locate the driver at microsoft's web page.

I don't think the OS supplies it. Check with the hardware manufacturer.

If you go to creative labs (http://www.creative.com
(http://www.soundblaster.com)) you can click support & download the latest
drivers or download a tool that automatically detects the creative hardware
you have on your computer & gives you the option to download the updates.

There is a site called http://www.drivers.com (I think) where you maybe able
to get them too, but you will have to register & there are a few popups. Try
the 'soundblaster link' way first.

Did you try to search for the missing file in the CD provided with Sound
card?

Or you can search the computer for that file, may be you could sometimes
find it withen the operating systems files.

Or you could also go to the devcie manager then try to make the wizard
automatically serach for the sound card drivers.

or lastly you can go to the Internet to the vendor site or other sites like

www.driverguide.com
