Missing Drag and Drop Feature?

Powerpoint 2000 allowed for a drag and drop feature with text and titles that
were not placed correctly into the "Click Here to Add Text" areas. That
feature seems to be disabled in Powerpoint 2003. Is this true or is there a
way to turn this feature on/off?

You are correct that the "feature" was removed. Copy and paste can be used
instead, but drag and drop does not do the trick in PowerPoint 2002 or 2003.

Can I suggest that it be added back in within a Service Pack release? 90% of
what my teammates and I do is reformat presentations sent to us from
Powerpoint "challenged" individuals. That feature made our lives so much
easier.

You can suggest it, but just in case there is any confusion or doubt - -
everyone here is just a user like you. We don't work for Microsoft.

You can post suggestions by selecting New > Suggestion for Microsoft.

I doubt that MS will bring the feature back (some saw it as a flaw, not a
feature, in fact).

I certainly understand why it's useful to you. Here's a way that's almost as
simple:

Click within the non-placeholder text box and press Ctrl+A to select all of the
text (or just select the portion of the text you want to use).

Drag the highlighted text into the placeholder you want to hold the text.

(For this to work, Drag and Drop Text Editing has to be enabled in Tools,
Options, Edit tab. It's enabled by default so most likely you won't need to
change anything).
