PROBLEM - When using Windows Search applet the "Browse" option is
missing from the drop-down list. The only way to limit a search to
specific folders is to manually enter the folder address.

CAUSE - This symptom results from altering the Windows-designated
drive letter assignments using Windows XP's Disk Management tool.

SOLUTION - Sorry, I don't have the technical knowledge needed for a
definite solution. A fresh install of Windows will obviously solve the
problem (provided you leave the drive letters alone this time!) but is
a lot of work. This is what I did, but I was doing a fresh install
anyway following an upgrade. Failing this, I suggest changing the
drive letters back to their original assignments - but I have not
checked if this works myself.

Possibly someone with greater knowledge could post a solution?

Good luck.

Easier solution: Use TweakUI/My Computer/Drives. Uncheck the drive letters
that you don't want the browse option for and reverse for those that you do.

Dear Friends,

I got a solution for this issue. It war very inconvenience for me too.

1. Click on the drop down menu in "Look in"
2. Just Press Enter.

You can now see the same option when you click on "Browse" Is in't it more easier ?
