Eric

I have lost my Address Bar in IE 6.0. I have tried the
following:

* Right-clicking to uncheck "Lock the Toolbar", then
clicking to deselect and select Address Bar under View.
* Looking for a squished Address Bar in my IE and moving
around the frames to uncover it - it is not there.
* Deleted the WebBrowser registry key and then restarting
IE - did not work.
* Running an Address Bar fix program I found somewhere -
no luck.
* Running Ad Aware, HijackThis, CWShredder, and Spybot -
this system is clean.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Eric

First of all, thanks very much for your help so far. I
am not sure what the heck happened, but none of the tools
you told me about fix the problem either. I have also
tried reinstalling IE (Microsoft Knowledge Base Article -
318378) with no luck. The only other thing I can think
of is to reinstall XP, but that seems drastic for a
missing address bar...

Any other ideas??? And thanks again.

Eric

Hi Eric,

Click Start, Run and type this command:

Regsvr32 /i browseui.dll

Open Internet Explorer and see if Address Bar is restored (Again apply ToolbarRepair, if required)

When I run this command I receive the following error:

DllInstall in browseui.dll failed.
Return code was: 0x80070005

Any other ideas?

Thanks again for your help with this...

Are you running the command from Administrator login?

really appreciate it.

Eric,

You may try logging in as Administrator and try again.
Coz, the error code indicates insufficient rights to the
registry keys.
