Hi,

I want to create a mirror volume of my C drive. I know the steps to create
a mirror volume, what I want to know is: How can I be sure that the wizard is
not going to format the drive that has the information?

In the Assign Drive Letter or Path dislog box, I will assign a drive letter,
I do not understand this because if I am mirroring the c drive, why do I have
to assign a drive letter?

In the format Partition dialog box, How do I know the wizard is not going to
format my server's c drive, do you select the unpartition space on the target
drive first?

If you are being prompted to assign a drive letter then you're not doing it
right.
Right-click the simple volume you want to mirror, click Add Mirror, and then
follow the instructions on your screen. The disk you want to mirror to must
be blank and at least as large as the first.
Data will be copied from the used Drive to the New/unused drive.
But be warned mirroring with Windows native software has some issues. You
will have to edit your boot.ini with an option to boot the second drive. So
when the first fails you can get the system to boot from the second.

Hi Yor,

Thanks for replying. My disk is dynamic and not simple does that make a
difference.

Hi Bjorn,

Thank you for that link, I followed the instructions and it worked.

Best regards

Sam
