Since being struck by Lovesan (and eliminating the virus
with Symantec's help), I am continually receive a dialog
box captioned "mIRC Options" which I cancel, but which
continues to appear. I would appreciate any advice on how
to eliminate the dialog box. When I click on the help
radio button in the mIRC Options dialog box, I am advised
that my computer cannot find the mirc.hlp file and I
shoudl reinstall it. I do not have a clue what mIRC is
and why the box reappears.

Also, in eliminating Lovesan, we were told to edit our
registry to remove a file. I cannot edit my registry
because when i run "regedit" the registry editor dialog
box literally flashes on the screen and disappears in
less than a second. I am again clueless as to what's
going on and would appreciate any help available.

Thanks in advance.

There was another virus going around that was passed through mIRC. May want
to check the system over for it:

For the regedit problem, copy the regedit.exe file and rename it to
regedit.com. Then run the renamed file. The current failure of regedit.exe
is probably lingering damage due to the virus/worm infection. It is a
common symptom.
