minor autoformat annoyance

I have word 2003, and when I ctrl-delete back over the end of a sentence (from a position of [period][space][cursor][end of line]), it re-adds a space to the right of the cursor. I don't remember this behavior in previous versions, and can't find this as an autoformat/autocorrect option

Anyone know how to turn this off

Thanks much

Hi Adam,

Looks like this is due to the Smart Copy/Paste options. Go to
Tools/Options/Edit and next to "Smart cut and paste" click Settings
and turn off "Adjust sentences and word spacing automatically".
