Heads up to anyone looking for a Minolta Scan Elite 5400:
www.newegg.com now has them in stock, $630 *with* saver shipping. (I
hadn't been checking much, so this might have been true some months
ago.) If you're in the US, you can finally get the SE5400 online at a
low price, with 30-day return, and without sacrificing service.

I feel safe posting this because mine arrived yesterday. :)

....which, of course, means that the new models are just around the
corner....
