Anybody know how to produce a PowerPoint smaller than 2.54cm (1in?) high?

I'd like to create a small banner style presentation with a height of just
0.66cm but the smallest I can go using the 'Page Setup' parameters is just
2.54cm

Thanks

Bob,

What is it you are trying to achieve?
Why would you want a page size so small?
What is the final output option you are aiming at?

Our product (Impatica OnCue) combines PowerPoint slides similtaneously with
audio and video. You can check out www.impatica.com if you'd like to know
more.

Basically, powerpoint slides (inc. transitions and animations etc) are
recreated in our own highly compressed (and efficient) format which then
enables streaming to ANY java enabled browser or device WITHOUT the need for
any dedicated players, specialist plug-in's or indeed PowerPoint on the
viewing device.

The finished size of the presentation slides is directly determined by the
'Page Setup' parameter within PowerPoint. I'm currently developing a
video-only version of our interface which (nevertheless) still requires the
PowerPoint slides to be present. I'm therefore trying to make them as small
as they can go. Ideally I'd like to achieve a target size of 11.66cm (no
problem) by 0.66cm (big problem, as I can only get down to 2.54cm minimum).

I'm currently uploading a test version of this new interface to
www.impaticasolutions.co.uk/bbc/perkins/perkins.html where you can see the
effect of having the PowerPoint slides too big (ideally they should fit
neatly in the small narrow window above the video. I can of course work
around this this by increasing the target size of PowerPoint slide area on
our interface but I wanted to ensure that this was a finite LIMITATION of
PowerPoint in the first instance.

(Please note this is a work-in-progress for which several versions of the
video data files are currently uploading - probably won't be complete for an
hour or so yet - 300mb in total to upload on a domestic 512 ADSL!!)

Have a look in a couple of hours and you should see what I mean. I'd be
grateful if you did know of any way to get an even smaller PowerPoint file
....

Thanks

Bob

Bob,

I believer 2.54 is the smallest it will go.

Can you not use some kind of scaling to get the size you want.

How does impatica convert the powerpoint slide to it's own format ?

[TOP ISSUE - Are you having difficulty opening presentations in PowerPoint
that you just created (you can save, but not open)? -

Hello,

2.54 cm (or 1 inch) is the smallest value that you can specify for slide
height or width in PowerPoint.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint should provide this kind of functionality, don't forget to send
your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft by either:

PREFERRED METHOD:

A) If you are using Microsoft's web-based, online newsreader for Office
communities
(http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.p
ublic.powerpoint), check to see whether or not the suggestion has been
submitted before (Show -> Suggestions for Microsoft) and, if so, add your
vote to the suggestion submission. If the suggestion has not been submitted
before, click on the "New" drop-down menu and choose "Suggestion for
Microsoft" from directly within the newsreader web page.

OR, NEXT BEST METHOD:

B) If you are using another newsreader (such as Microsoft Outlook Express),
submit your suggestion using your web browser at the following address:
http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
