Hi everybody,

can anyone tell me about the minimum disk space required for XP home? I do
not need IE and many other programs, just Network, VBRUN and Screensaver.
Everything else can be left out of the installation.

Thanks for your help

Ole

Umm you can't choose what parts of XP you install and what you don't. This
isn't Linux! XP comes with IE you can't do anything about that.

My XP Pro installation with SP2 and all updates is just on 2GB. If you have
a 6 GB HDD you will just about manage it.

The minimum space needed is 1.5 GB. This can vary though depending on
what
you chose to install.

You can't "choose" to install or not to install ANYTHING with Windows. It's
all or nothing.

You can uninstall certain modules after the installation is complete......

I guess I'm going to have to agree to disagree here as you do have the
options to be able to install additional regional and language options and
additional network options. Network options can have an impact on
performance depending on what you add.

Beyond that, yes the remainder have to be removed after installation
completes. Point is that you do have options of what to install or not to
install during setup. Limited though they may be, they are options none the
less.

yes OK you can choose not to install ADDITIONAL modules, but you can't
choose not to install anything else. The OP seemed to be under the
impression that he could choose to not install IE.......

You want at least 10 gig free after install of XP.
