I am trying to help a friend who is newer to XP Home than I am - just!

For reasons which baffle me, when he minimises a folder it reduces to a
Taskbar like strip across the middle of the screen - not the normal small
re-sizeable window we are used to

Any suggestions - my own XP Home is not like that and I cannot find any
explanation in Help

Minimize the window and then see if you can resize the taskbar
like strip. Put the cursor near the bottom of the strip and see
if you get a two ended arrow. If you do just drag the window open.

I use a third party shell add-on that "rolls up" windows to the title bar.
Is it possible this is what they are seeing?

PaintShop Pro does the same thing with tool palettes - however these are
windows within windows. The tools are controlled by PSP, not Windows or an
add-on.
