Wow. I'm able to boot a configuration that just has hardware and a command
prompt and it takes about 40MB. When I add Telnet and IIS FTP, so I can copy
files to the target, it jumps to about 150MB. Is there a smaller
configuration that would allow me to copy files to the target across the
network? Thanks!

Larry,

It depends on what you mean by "network".

Do you really need a server running on your device? Can you initiate the copy from the device, e.g.?
You just want to use netbios to copy files over local network, start with TCP/IP Network with MS Client.

In case you need Telnet (I can hardly imagine you would need that for "copying file over network") you can look for 3rd party
solutions that may have less dependencies.

IIS is huge. No doubt. Check out www.xpefiles.com. There has been posted a component containing Apache server.
Or you can turn off Auto-Resolve dependencies in TD and try to minimize the IIS FTP dependencies (only testing will help you to find
that out).

Another lightweight alternative for you could be - DUA agent, BINL service, etc.

By network, I mean across our LAN. Yeah, I could initiate it from the device. I'll look
int TCP/IP Network with MS Client; thanks again!

Okay, I did TCP/IP Network with MS Client and also added the TCP/IP Utilities. I can ping
the XPe device from my host and vice versa. But I can't see it in the Network Neighborhood
nor can I 'net use' a drive to it. What else do I need in order to be able to copy files
to it? Thanks!

Larry,

Start with "Network Command Shell Interface Context" compnent and resolve its dependencies.

Also, include "Network Command Shell" and "IP Router Monitor Library" components.
