min max buttons

I have a Win2000 system where the Windows Min Max Close
button have all taken on a strange appearance. As well as
that, all the arrows that used to appear under the start
menu, appear with difference symbols.

Does anyone have any ideas of what may have happened?

Sounds like a video card issue

The font used to display these items is called "Marlett.ttf". In your case,
it sounds like this font is missing or corrupt. You can copy this file from
another machine or your original media. This is a hidden file in the
<Windows>\fonts folder, so you would need to set your view to view hidden
files.
