I'm about to upgrade my PC with a new motherboard and processor. The old one
is an NForce2 based board and the new one is NForce4 based. I just recently
did a clean install of Windows XP Pro SP2 and just can't face the prospect
of another one so soon. So... what I intend to do is to keep my current
installation and when I swap over the primary drive, perform a Windows
repair using the Windows XP disk. This will hopefully redect the new
hardware and install all the drivers for the new hardware, leaving the rest
of my stuff untouched. Can anyone recommend this approach... or recommend a
better one? Thanks!

I'm using a recently purchased OEM (non BIOS locked) version of Windows XP
Pro SP2. I've ordered up a new motherboard, cpu, and video card. Can you
please confirm that I will be able to activate Windows (by phone?) after the
hardware upgrade? Thanks!

If I remember things correctly Microsoft does not support OEM versions of
Windows; that is a function of whoever the OEM is. Also, I believe OEM
versions do not allow for a repair install, only a clean install.
