Migrating Win XP Home

I am considering to buy a new PC, but one which comes without an OS.
My current machine I would give to my son who would reformat the HDD snd
install his own OS on it.
What I want to know is : can I just install my copy of Win XP Home on the
new machine using my existing licence or would that cause any problems?
Are there any special procedures I need to follow ?

As long as you license is a regular retail copy of WinXP Home, there is
nothing wrong with what you plan on doing.

Assuming a retail license (OEM licenses are _not_ transferable),
simply remove WinXP from the computer it is currently on, and install
it onto the new one. If it's been more than 120 days since you last
activated that specific Product Key, you'll most likely be able to
activate via the Internet without problem. If it's been less, you
might have to make a 5 minute phone call.
