MIDI!

Can anyone help, I'm desparate. Just brought brand new PC
with XP operating system but I can't get any midi in.
I've tried 2 different sound cards, two midi keyboards, 2
sets of leads and now a midi to USB interface. All my
sound cards and USB interface are all recognised by XP
and by Logoc audio (sequencing software) but still
nothing.... It must be something in my operating system.
Am I misssing something?? PLEASE HELP ME!

I have succesfully run a Behringer V-Amp 2 guitar processor via MIDI
through an Audigy card.
