midi music on web sites fails to play

Midi music will not play on my computer from a web site
in the microsoft internet explorer browser. Wav format
will play. this is a puzzle to me. Is there a plugin that
I am missing for my browser. I know the music is there
because it plays on other peoples computers. Any help or
suggestions will help, my ideas have played out.
Help !!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless you have the recent patch to protect you when playing
midi's directly from a site, I would download DL midi's before
playing them.

Maybe your AV program or another security measure is preventing
it from playing because it contains a web bug.
