Have you tried opening WMP and going to TOOLS/OPTIONS
and the FORMAT tab and making sure that MIDI is checked?
Hit APPLY and OK.
Also, give me one of the URL's that you are going to and let me
try it and see if it works on this end..

Hi Regine,
Yes, I posted a message earlier today about a problem I
was having with IE not playing midi files. I don't know
what suddenly caused it. It's been going on for several
days--occasionally they played, but mostly they didn't.
Right now they are playing fine, but I have no idea why.
What specifically is happening with your midis? I am
going to quote my post here so you don't have to search
for it. No replies to mine yet, but your post with Midi
in the title might get a better response:
"No Sound When Viewing Some Webpages" posted Dec. 26, 2003

This problem just started a few days ago. I'm using IE 6
with Windows XP and I not able to get sound any more on
certain web pages. I think it may be limited to web pages
that have a midi (not a .wav) embedded to play when the
page is opened. I have just upgraded to IE SP1, but that
did not help. Nor does rebooting. I have checked several
times to see if Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>"Play
sounds in web pages" is checked, and it always is. I think
problem started about the time that I was creating some
web pages using Frontpage 2000 and using midis which I
downloaded from the Net. I have run Ad-Aware several
times with nothing of note discovered. Since I don't have
much experience with web authoring, I don't know if the
problem is me, the midis or IE. Any suggestions would be
appreciated. Thanks, Louise.
