For a few months I have this entry showing in the Add or Remove
Programs list in my XP Professional computer. I think it was not there
when I installed XP about 18 months ago. I am not a software
developer. I use the computer for text, spreadsheets, images, music.
and Internet access. Can I remove the "microsoft xml parser and sdk"
software?

The Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) SDK includes documentation for server-safe HTTP
access,
XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations), XPath (XML Path
Language), and
SAX2 (Simple API for XML).
This SDK also provides language filtering; improved code samples in Microsoft
JScript,
Microsoft Visual Basic, and C++; and links to utilities you can use for creating
XML applications.

If you are a developer, why remove it?

Carlos;
If you use the MS Baseline Security Analyser you need the microsoft xml
parser. The Microsoft XML Parser(MSXML) 3.0 SP4 SDK includes header and .lib
files, and documentation for the MSXML 3.0 Release. The MSXML 3.0 SDK includes
documentation for server-safe HTTP access, XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language
Transformations)/XPath (XML Path Language), and SAX2 (Simple API for XML).

Thank you for your explanation. I need clarification.

I do not use the MS Baseline Security Analyser. I do use Internet
Explorer 6 as a user only. Can I then remove "microsoft xml parser and
sdk"?

Carlos

CarlosWA;
I don't have microsoft xml parser and sdk . I use IE6 as a user only. If
you see no program that you have that needs it, get rid of it. Get rid of it
anyway. If you find that you need it, re-install it. I hope this helps.
