I have this package installed and registered to my desktop PC. Would I be
allowed to register the same copy to my laptop also or would I be required to
buy an additional copy of the software?

I think you are allowed a copy of Office on your laptop, don't know if
this was ever official or not but I seem to recall reading somewhere
it was OK. As Works is a version of office and if the above is true
then you should be OK with a copy of Works on your laptop in theory
anyway.

eh Carey?

I don't know anything about the Works EULA, and won't comment on it, but I
wanted to point out that Works is *not* a version of Office; it's another
product entirely.

Fair enough but its generally the same sort of thing in friendlier
packages and it has Word 2002 (according to what I have seen in
reviews recently) - which is part of office hence my speculation that
running a copy on a laptop would be tolerated possibly?

I have not seen it or installed it myself since Win95 was hot stuff so
I do not know really.

Same "sort" of thing, perhaps. But still a very different, and much
lower-level product.

As I said, I don't know what the Works EULA permits, and prefer not to
speculate.
