l've recently had to reboot my whole system to start from scratch again, and
l've downloaded my(genuine) MS Works suite 2000 and when ive gone to use it l
had to put in a CD key, to which is on the front of my console, l put the
numbers in and it tells me it is the wrong number, to which l no it isn't as
ive used it before, but now its not letting me use MS Word and other MS
applications, how do l get around this please as my kids need this
application for school

Are you sure you are typing in the characters correctly. Don't get mixed up
between O & 0, not being funny but you have used "1" instead of "I"
throughout your message.
A second thought you are sure that CD key is the correct one for MS Works
and not for Word which as far as I know are two different programs.

Did he/she use 1 instead of I ? ...Did you change them as it looks
O.K. to me .apart from using lower case i when I would have been
correct .??

Stuart

No I didn't change them. Are you saying that as you read the message from
stenise it begins:
"I've recently" and not "1've recently" the second one looks like it begins
with "one" to me.
Neil

Second thoughts it might be the way it looks in Outlook newsreader I've just
has a look in google groups and as you say they look the same.

The Product Key affixed to the case of your computer is that of the
operating system (Windows), not Works. The Works product Key will be
either on the case holding the installation CD, or on a sheet of paper
among the rest of the documentation that came with the computer.
