With Office 2000, one had the possibility to see the characters of the
keyboard on the screen when typing. This is handy when one types in a
foreign language, the characters of which do not correspond to the English
keyboard layout. Does anyone know if such a thing exists for later versions
of Office such as Office 2003? I have not been able to find anything in MS
downloads. Thanks.

Have u tried Insert - Symbol.
You can also try "On Screen Keyboard" Accessibility utility of Microsoft
Windows XP / Home Edition. Very handy and good utility to work with foreign
languages.

Hope this information helps you, let us know.

"Office XP/2000-Add-In: Microsoft Visual Keyboard"

Select the appropriate language resource.

- or -

Start > Run: osk.exe

From what I know, "Insert Symbol" only inserts a character or symbol but does
not display the whole keyboard in a particular language. As far as the
Accessibility device you mention, I could not find it (probably because I
have XP Prof. edition). In any case, I found the solution by reading the
posts on the matter in the Office Word Newsgroup. The answer is: Start > Run
type SOC > Enter, and the keyboard appears on your screen. Thank you for
your kind help; I appreciate it.

Thanks for your help. I did just that (without typing the ".exe") after
reading that solution in the Word Newsgroup the other day and it worked. You
were right on target!

You're certainly welcome.
