Sandra

Hi there! Hope I have the right chat forum for this.

Anyway, if someone could help me, I would really
appreciate it. I have a few Microsoft Word XP files and
here is what's happening...

These files were sent to me from some other user, and when
I go to open the files, here is what happens...

A Microsoft Visual Basic dialog box opens up with the
following message: "an error occurred while loading "this
document". Do you want to continue loading the project"?
Yes, No, or Help are the only options.

Well, if you hit "yes" the system crashes, but if you
hit "NO", it will open up the document, but will not allow
you to use the FILE - SAVE AS function so you can save it
and give it another name. Hope you're following. :)

Can anyone please explain clearly what you think might be
going on? Is it coding, macros, what?

Thanks for all your help!

Seems like the Word VBA groups are the better ones (this one is about
"Visual Basic.Net" (see group name)):
microsoft.public.word.vba.*

What you are seeing is VBScript, not VB.NET. Try the word or office forums
for scripting, you'll get a much better response.
