Hi, I have WindowsXp and OfficeXp and when I start MSWord
I receive an error message(s) that state:
"Microsoft Visual Basic-The macros is this project are
disabled. Please refer to the online help or
documentation of the host application to determine how to
enable macros". After I click OK, I get another error
message: "MSWord-This file contains macros with an
expired or revolked signature. Since you are running
under High Security Level, these macros will be
disabled". After Ok, the Microsft Visual Basic error
messages appears again and after I click enter the MSWord
message appears, after I click enter again, the MSWord
error message appears again aand after I click enter the
Microsodt Visual Basic error appears and when I click
enter, I FINALLY get to MSWord.
When I exit MSWord, the Microsoft Visual Basic error
message appears and when I click OK the message appears
again / is repeated and when I click OK, I am able to
exit MSWord.
I am not sure if this is a WindowsXp issue or a MSWord
issue or ????? and would appreciate your H-E-L-P.
Thank you,
Bob

It sounds like a problem with MS word. If you have no idea what these macros
are (and if they are in the normal document template) they could be
dangerous (viruses ect.) and Word has disabled them due to a high security
setting. You could set the macro protection to low or off in the options
panel or (and what I would suggest) uninstall Word (and perhaps the rest of
the office suite), run a virus scan with the latest signatures and reinstall
it. Make sure you don't use the settings wizard as it may restore the old
normal.doc template which may bring back the same problem.

You could do as Matthew Shaw suggests and uninstall word
etc. but quicker and easier in the first place is simply
to delete (or move away from it's current place) the
normal.dot (default template) file. If you have nothing
special in it as far as customisation is concerned you
will see no difference as word will create a new one...

One obvious question though - do you have any voice
dication software installed? IBM ViaVoice uses VBA... if
something screwed up there, that might also account for
your symptoms.
