Bill Lathan

An Excel security fix was downloaded last week. However, it fails to install
every time it tries. Is there a way to completely eliminate the install
file(s) from an XP computer so I can force the update to download it anew?

TIA,

Bill

1) Get the KB name & search Microsoft for the redistributable & install it
that way

2) Use the following newsgroup for update questions:
microsoft.public.windowsupdate

If you go into 'Windows\Software Distribution\Downloads' folder you can
delete as many of those files as you can then try Windows Update again

Bill,
Go to the 'Windows Update' website, this should start the search for
updates NOT INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER (which this is not) and give you the
opportunity to download it again. If this doesn't happen you can click on
the 'Update History' link to the left. This will show you your failed or
cancelled installation, along with all the other updates, and you can try
downloading it again.
