Microsoft Security Bulletin MS04-003

Every time I log on I get a notice about the same security
update: Microsoft Security Bulletin MS04-003. The same
update appears when I scan for needed updates. Anyone
else have this problem?

This issue is due to a problem in the detection logic for this patch. The
patch is only meant for the following versions of MDAC.
MDAC 2.5 Service Pack 2
MDAC 2.5 Service Pack 3
MDAC 2.6 Service Pack 2
MDAC 2.7
MDAC 2.7 Service Pack 1
MDAC 2.7 Service Pack 1 Refresh
MDAC 2.8

More than likely your machine does not have one of these versions of MDAC.
If you upgrade to one of these versions the problem should go away.
