That would be KB912919. I reregistered the <shmgvw.dll> and removed the
"hexblog" fix prior to installing the update, don't know if that is
necessary, but, thought it would be advisable to avoid any conflict.
Heirloom, old and got it

If you have Autotomatic Updates on then you will be receiving the patch
pronto. Some computers here already have it downloaded. If you un-registered
any DLL files remember to re-register them ...

I have found at least 4 systems, clean systems, that won't install the
update via Windows Update (running XP SP2 and all updates). Have Dozens
more than it installed from Windows Update without any problems.

When I got home last night, I downloaded and tried to install this
patch on my Compaq Presario 1500 laptop. This machine came with an SP1
version of XP Home, but the patch - labeled for XP SP1 or SP2 - told
me that I didn't have an appropriate SP level!

So I finally broke down and put the SP2 CD in. It installed without a
hitch (it did take a long time). Then the WMF patch went in just fine.

You sport MS MVP yet don't have SP2 installed already? Hm, well I'll be.
Next, you will be saying viruses are good because they show that one gets
around the 'Net and is open to new experiences?
