Upgrading Outlook versions will never delete data. If you do an in place
upgrade from IMO, you will need to migrate your data correctly and create
a
new profile. Upgrades from IMO are buggy because they retain links to
your
old IMO profile that should not be retained. Creating a new profile and
migrating your data correctly will solve the problems. Use these
instructions to migrate your data file as they apply to Outlook 2002 as
well
as Outlook 2003:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA010771141033.aspx
Also, be aware that if you upgrade only Outlook without the rest of your
Office Suite, you will lose all integration with Word.

Russ,
I am currently using Outlook 2000 and syncing it with my Dell Axim X5.
I
purchased a new Dell Axim X50v, which has a
disk with Outlook 2002. I want to set up 2 different profiles so that
my
wife can use one device for her appointments and contacts and I want to
use
the other device for my appointments and contacts. If I upgrade to
Outlook
2002 will this delete the information I have stored in calendar and
contats
in Outlook 2000? Again, thank you for your help.
:
IMO does not use profiles, so that's why you have no such option.
If you can explain what it is you need to do with Profiles, we can
figure
out an alternative, or you can always switch to the full version of
Outlook.

When I go to Help>about Microsoft>the second line reads "Internet
Mail
Only." Sorry it took so long to answer but I could not get online
yesterday.
I appreciate any assistance you can give me. Thank you
:
Look at Line 2 of Help | About in Outlook.
What does it say?

Yes, I am using Outlook 2000 on my PocketPC Device and this is
what
is
on
my
PC. As for the "mail support mode, I don't know what this is.
Could
you
explain this to me? Thank you.
:
Post noted. No answer is possible. You failed to share with us
your
Outlook
version. If it an outdated version like Outlook 2000, include
your
mail
support mode as well.

I am using the Classic View of the Control Panel on XP Home.
When
I
click
on
"mail" to set the Microsoft Outlook Profiles instead of
getting
the
window
"Mail Set-up-Microsoft Outlook Internet", which would allow me
to
set
up
profiles, I get a window showing "Internet Accounts" which
shows
the
mail
servers. How do I correct this so I can get the proper window
to
come
up
so I
can set up my profiles?
I hope someone out there can help me correct this. Thanks
