Microsoft office

Hello,
I am after some help when it comes to computers I am a novice.
I have just purchased my son a secon hand pc that is running on Windows xp.
He wants microsoft office ie powerpoint etc put onto computer but when I
look online for it there is microsoft office for sp1 sp2 etc.
As I said my sons computer is Windows xp can you let me know the exact
microsoft office I need for this system.

That's not "for" SP1, SP2, etc. MS Office also has security packs that have
to be maintained.

If you're not down with the idea of spending a couple hundred bucks on
software that could be better spent as a deposit into your son's college
fund, I strongly suggest checking out http://www.openoffice.org/ for a 100%
MS Office compatible, free software alternative.
