Being the technical genius that I am(not),I think I have
uninstalled microsoft internet explorer and now it is
telling me I need a disc to reinstall it. Is there any
other way? I have tried to restore the system several
times but to no avail any tips? It keeps trying to
install micro soft money!

I have the same problem but from a different source: One of the XP users thought her preferences were running too slowly. She went to add/delete and deleted things she didn't use, such as MONEY. UGH! I did a restore from earlier in the day and now she runs smoothly under her user name but under my user name, I get prompted with a "Windows Installer" window with every click of the mouse - even while surfing the net! I cannot open ANYTHING w/out the windows installer asking me for the original disk w/Microsoft Money money.msi on it. I can't even open Money! I bought an emachine from Best Buy and MSN Money was preloaded so I didn't get any disk except for the emachine recovery disk. It's about as useful to me as the AOL coasters we get in the mail each week. I always hit "cancel" but even that prompts another installer window! Not nice and definitely not easy to fix - it isn't fixed yet and I've been going at this for more than a week. I'm not a techno dummy, but I'm close! I run McAfee and update it daily. I run Lavasoft's spyware, I run AVG from Grisoft and run SpyBot - none of them have come up with anything.

Same Money2002 Installer issue here, after deleting files for other software. Here's a bandaid that works for me. Turn off Windows Installer in MSCONFIG Services. Now the Money Installer window flashes/closes and the intended program or web page opens fine. Hopefully the real fix is coming soon?
