Bill Gates will announce the launch of Windows Marketplace on October 12th
at the Experience More launch in Los Angeles.

Many of us have waiting for the feature is Player 10 Mobile only to find out
it is only available by purchasing a new Pocket PC. I have a pocket pc of
recent vintage running WM2003SE. I see this as a slap in the face of those
who have supported this platform and the Windows Media technology.

Any idea what brought about this awful idea?

Sure.

More PPC mgfrs wanting to sell more PPC's.

It's become blatantly obvious over the last couple years
that less and less mgfrs are going to offer OS upgrades to
PPC's - they have NO incentive to do so and EVERY
incentive to want to convince us to throw away our old ones
to get the newest and best.

And we're doing it.
