Microsoft Mail is clearly a disaster

Does Microsoft even care?? The software routinely hangs, crashes, won't
process, freezes or you get error messages when processing as noted in
several posts here?

- Are there any patches via Microsoft?
- Is there a version of Outlook Express that works with Vista?

This is very frustrating. Any thoughts would be appreciated

A. The program is not called Microsoft Mail.
B. When used with a compatible antivirus, Windows Mail is very reliable
for most users.
C. If you don't like Windows Mail, try the newer email program that
Microsoft has called a replacement for Windows Mail:

Gary, the Windows live seems to work pretty well so far. But I see I can
also still get EM from Windows Mail. Is that a conflict or is it ok if both
are functioning. I assume I should leave Windows Mail on my system as I
assume it is drawing EM that is feeding Windows Live. And I assume I still
have full security on Windows Live

Also, is there an easy way to import the opened EM from Windows Mail over to
Windows Live? If there this, I can stop using Windows Mail all together.

I greatly appreciate your help!

Once you import the old email you want into Windows Live Mail, just
remove the email account under Windows Mail and it will not be able
to download mail any more.

I use both, but I like Windows Live Mail better for email.
It has better spell checking features, and auto-completion for contacts
works better.

There's nothing wrong with using both programs. I use WLM for email
and WM for newsgroups. Although it is possible to have both
programs download email, this is wasteful of resources. I recommend
you keep WM dormant as a backup email program in case WLM ever
goes bad on you.
These two programs are independent, and they do not need each other.

Windows Mail won't get any mail if you don't open it.
