Microsoft InteliMouse Explorer Trouble

I have a Microsoft InteliMouse Explorer. For some damn
reason the Mouse "Freezes" up on me. Or just stops
working altogether. I have to Power Down, unplug the
Mouse. Then re-plug the Mouse back in the power back up.
After that everthing is ok until it acts up again. And
it's getting worse. Is this a power issue, or could the
Mouse be on it's last leg?

I've gone through 1 as has my wife and neighbor. All 3 were replaced by
Microsoft for free. The ones I and my neighbor purchased say "Lifetime
Limited Warranty". The current ones for sale say 5 year warranty. You
might look at this website and call them
