I bought one but am amazed that the additional time it takes for the login
screen to appear - it is nearly a minute extra before you can log in. Anyone
know if you can turn of the fingerprint option for log in ?

It's always easier and faster to open a door that does not have a lock!

So if you don't want security why buy a lock!

the fingerprint reader has zero to do with security as it is simply an
alternative to typing your password. On this occassion - the login screen I
want to type my password as it is much much faster. Other times the
fingerprint scanner is more convient.

This is not a security device but a convience device.
