I am trying to find the differences between two similar tables, although it
will only extract the rows and columns that are the same i would like to be
able to pull out the columns that are different but access seems not to allow
this (There is no join relationship that gives the differences between tables
only the same). Is there any way around this???

Dear Joe:

I believe there are so many possible meanings to your statement, "to
pull out the columns that are different" that it would be helpful for
you to give an example of what you want to do.

Sure,

Tom, i have two sets of data say data a and data b. data a is a list of car
components and b is a updated list of car components. Some of the components
are the same and others are different. I need to create a table of the
different components from the two lists. I hope this explains a it a little
better.

any thoughts would be appreciated.

Dear Joe:

When two rows are the same, is it the case that every column of the
two rows are exactly identical? Or do you mean something else?

How should the results be organized to reflect some degree of sameness
between two rows that differ in some small degree?

Giving some examples as I requested may be much easier than some
lengthy definitions.
