Microphone in Input method

Dear all,
In my XP input method toolbar, there exist a microphone and
speech input. I do not want the
microphone and speech input method. I just want to switch off
microphone but not delete them in input method? How can I do that?

Double-click the Volume icon, and check the "Mute" box under "Mic"
or
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> "Advanced Button" on the
General tab
 
The microphone is on the input method toolbar, the toolbar that I can
change to Chinese input. It is near the input method icon. It is not
beside the volume icon. Please help.
