I hae just had a new computer made and cannot get the microphone or
headphones to work in the front sockets, they are fine in the back of tower.
The two USB sockets or ports in the front are working fine. Have Realtek
AC'97 Audio with driver 5.10.0.6060 dated 31/3/06. Thanks.

Do you know if the front sockets (jacks) work or are connected?

Also, these are not the jacks on the CD/DVD drives, right???

make sure that the front audio connector is connected to the motherboard...

did this new computer have onboard audio ? if an another audio card was
installed to "upgrade" the onboard audio ..those front connectors may not be
connected to the new card

I dont know if they are connected, perhaps I should ring the business who
made the computer. Do you mean that Realtek AC'97 Audio has nothing to do
with these sockets. Thanks.

Thanks for your help, I will get onto the business and ask them if they are
connected etc, it is under warranty so I dont want to open it and void the
warranty. many thanks.

Thanks for all of your help, got onto the builders of computer and the front
jacks are not connected to the motherboard, can have them connected but ones
in back wont work so are going to leave them as they are as that is ok, just
nice to know nothing is wrong.
