Mic is not working...

I was talking to my friends one day and all of a sudden, it decided to not
work. The mic is on my monitor and it's got a jack on the back of the
monitor. I've tried everything the Help and Support center told me to do. I
checked to see if it was muted and it wasn't. I also checked the wiring and
it was connected properly. I even got a new wire for it. Does anyone know
what could be wrong??? Thanks in advanced
 
Justin, try your Mic on a different computer. Or borrow another Mic and
see if it works. At least eliminate that possiblity.

Did you try using a different jack? If not, maybe that'll make a
difference.

My PC has 2 mic jacks. It occasionally changes its mind about which to
listen to, for mysterious reasons. I don't know why, but switching to the
other jack helps.
