I ran chkdsk and it said my MFT had unused space which was allocated. I then
ran chkdsk /f to fix the problem. It then said I had problem with my volume
system bits and to run chkdsk again. I ran it again and then got the MFT
problem again. Chkdsk is just running around in circles. Does anyone know
how to correct this problem?

Your hard drive may be failing. Download a diagnostic utility from the
mftr.'s website, create a bootable floppy, and run it.
