this is a repost as I didnt provide an email address with
me earlier posting

I have MSN messenger 6 installed on my home PC running XP
home edition.

I have a picture displayed when I am chatting with
others. What I would like to know is where is the
location of that picture ?? I know where the default pics
are stored but my personal pic isnt in that folder.

Can anyone tell me where that pic is actually located on
an XP machine?

Many thanks

Craig

Why don't you try clicking on the arrows and say select change picture.
Might learn something on your own.

Greetings Craig,

I'm not sure what you mean, as when you chose a personal display picture, it's actually sized
down and put into the same folder as the rest of the "default" ones. As such, they're all in
\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\microsoft\MSN Messenger\anumber\UserTile
Where username is your Windows XP username and anumber is a random number.

Although saved as .DAT files, they're really .PNG files and able to be opened in any
application which supports .PNG.
