Just finished installing SP2 in WinXP and Messenger has re-appeared.
(I had got rid of it a year ago)
Zone alarm records an attempt to connect to "crl.verisign.com" at boot up.
Is this part of Messenger ?
How can I get rid of the SP2 Messenger all together?
TIA

Greetings Sunny,

No, this isn't part of Windows Messenger. To kill it again, close down Messenger if it's
running (right click the messenger icon in the notification area/system tray and click
close). Then click the start button, then click Run and type in (copy-paste if you like):
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Then click OK.
Messenger will then be uninstalled. For more detailed instructions and screenshots, go to,
