Video working OK both ways but no audio either way....any suggestions will
be appreciated!

I am having same problem ever since
i put in 6.0 messenger used to work o.k. with 4.1 version

running xp pro with 6.0 messenger and yes video is good
but no audio. additionaly i'm running a Milan mod#1311
wireles router through a cable modem with no blocks.
router is using NAT and UPnP is enabaled. not sure about
the modem could be a problem, will check this later. i've
set the ports to 6901 and i beleive another at 1863 (not
sure of second number). i've almost exhausted all my
energy - help!

I have enabled UPNP on my router. The icon now shows up in Network
Connections. I have turned off QOS. I can audio chat betwen the two
computers on my LAN but cannot audio chat to my friend on the WAN. We can
send files to each other and can turn on the webcam feature no problem.

I was unable to audio chat even between computers on my LAN before. Now,
at least that works. Do I still have to open some ports on my Linksys
BEFW11S4 ?

This is a shoot in the dark but there seems to be a bug in 6.0 or the last
version of rtcdll.dll. I don't know what the problem is but could it be that
rtcdll.dll is using your fake LAN IP instead of the public IP. That could
also explain why it works on your LAN now. It did'nt before because your
router doesnt support loopback.
RTC = Real Time Communication

And, if this is the case, what can be done to make rtcdll.dll use the public
IP? After all it works OK on most systems, only a few experience problems
with audio.

Jone.
