Messages not stored

On some newsgroups like this one, the msgs/posts are stored for quite a long
time. In Tools/options/maintenance I have it set to 30 days, and it seems to
be fine in this NG. But on some NGs it is only for less than a week, even 2
days on some. How can I get all to be for 30 days?

Ben,

The retention is actually set on the server so older messages may be removed
even though you have the header cached locally (which itself will be removed
when it reaches the limit you set).
So if you are finding newsgroups on other servers with short retention
periods that is an issue with them and not something you have control over.
