Messages not being deleted

Hello,

I have set up my Outlook 2007 for my school's email ( .edu ). Everything
seems to work fine except that when I delete an email from Outlook it is
removed from Outlook, but when I check my email from another computer through
a web browserit is still there.

I remember when I set-up my Outlook I checked a setting in my email account
through a web browser that said something like, "leave mail on POP server".
Would this cause that problem?
 
Yes, it would. You could set the Remove from Server when deleted from
Deleted Items option
 
Tools menu > Account Settings > Highlight an account > Hit Change > Click
More Settings > Advanced Tab
