Messages are deleting automatically like there are rules set up

I have a client that when he downloads say 10 messages the first 8 will show
up for half a second (just like there are rules set up) and then go away one
by one. They do not end up in the deleted folder or anywhere else. We have
done the detect and repair with no help. He keeps up his virus protection.
Not sure where to go. Please help

What is his View setting?
