Message Too Large to Send and Cannot Remove from Outbox

I tried to send an e-mail with an attachment that
apparently was too large. Now the message is still in the
Outbox and I cannot delete it. When I try and delete it I
get a message that it was either already deleted, moved,
or access is denied. Additionally, Outlook keeps trying
to send the message every so often and fails.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

set outlook to offline - file, offline - and delete it. you may need to
remain offline for few min before you can delete it or restart outlook.
once deleted, repeat the steps to go back online.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that but it did not work. I
get the same message that it cannot be deleted because it
has already been deleted, moved, or access is denied. If
I try to open it I get a message "Can't open this item.
Outlook has already begun transmitting this message".

Could there be some sort of lock on the item that can be
undone in another way (i.e. doing something with the .pst
file)?

Thanks again for the help.

if you can't delete it going offline and restarting outlook, you need to
make a new pst and set it as default delivery location then delete the
message and set the old pst as default.

I've done this but the message still appears to be one that is not sent. It still comes up with the 'Outlook has started transmitting the message' when you try to open the message.

Some more help to remove this 3mb clog would be great!
