message to activate this copy of windows

I have changed to TimeWarner roadrunner program and installed all of their
security programs--after I did this I got this message to activate my copy of
windows and when I try I don't know how to do it right
 
You will have a few times to activate. But, latter you will have to call
microsoft to do it for you
 
Activate or Validate? What security programs? Did you uninstall all other
security programs?

There is no need to install anything for Roadrunner to work. All that
is needed
is to plug in the power cord and the cables.
All that software is branded 3rd party. RR since 1997, never used any
software.
The first couple of years we had to log on.
