Message stuck in outbox, and IS italicized...

I've read all the other threads relating to this problem, and I just don't
have an idea what to do. My messages are stuck in my outbox, they ARE
italicized, and I have not opened or read them. I am not running Norton, but
have an instiutional subscription to McAfee. My e-mails are not being
recieved by the intended recipients. All the server settings are correct and
worked on my previous PC. (Just got this new one a couple days ago.) I am
running XP Proffesional with Outlook 2003. Outlook can send the test message
and gives no error message when I hit send/recieve.

Don't know what other details to give other than to say I'm really freaking
confused.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Enable diagnostic logging to see what's happening when Outlook tries to send
